Arrival to Sarajevo. Transport from airport to hotel. We will start with the Sarajevo Walking Tour. This two hours tour offers You to meet the old town of Sarajevo. Walking through charming small ancient streets of Sarajevo will make You fall in love with this lovely town.
A walk through Sarajevo is a walk through its past. From the oriental Ottoman quarters lined with sweet shops, cafes and handicraft workshops, to the administrative and cultural center of Austro-Hungarian times, Sarajevo encompasses the very best of both worlds. Well known for its centuries-old tradition of hospitality. Sarajevo is a city where even strangers can feel at home. We will also visit the area of Bosna River Springs, a natural park known for crystal clear springs of river Bosna, with many small lakes and cascades, ideal for walking and enjoying nature.
Just 8 years after Sarajevo hosted XIV Winter Olympic Games, the city became besieged during the Bosnian War. It was the longest siege in modern history. The next places to visit are Yellow Fortress, Sniper Alley, Hotel Holiday Inn, Tunnel Of Hope, bobsleigh track and the former frontlines. Beginning from the best view of the city you will have a glimpse into the geographical area of Sarajevo.
The guide will tell you how life was like in a city without electricity, food or water. On the way to the Tunnel Of Hope, we will take you through Sniper Alley and Grbavica – last place where you would want to live during the siege. You will watch original war videos made during the siege. Find one of several headquarters of Ratko Mladić, a convicted war criminal. Visit the market place Markale, Memorial for children killed during the siege. You understand why there are so many cemeteries in Sarajevo. You will visit Kovači, resting place of many Sarajevo defenders. The tour also includes a visit to a famous bobsleigh track located on mountain Trebevic. Overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast departure to the Herzegovina region. The first stop will be in Konjic. As Bosnia was the scene of some of the fiercest battles between the Yugoslav Partisans and the Axis Powers during WW2, the next stop is in Jablanica. It’s a small town famous for its bridge and the Battle of Neretva where the Partisans managed to win a very difficult battle. Then we continue through some really amazing parts of the Neretva river canyon, which runs through Herzegovina. Next destination is Kravice, a waterfall on the Trebižat River.
It’s a smaller version of Niagara Falls, hidden in the Balkans. For its amazing beauty and untouched nature, it’s protected by Bosnia and Herzegovina as a natural treasure. Visit in spring and you can see them in their full glory. Then we will proceed to Blagaj, a haven of peace and natural harmony. The Blagaj Tekke is situated by the spring of the river Buna, surrounded by beautiful mountains. At the end of the day, it’s time for Mostar experience – a city of light, stone on stone, historical, political, scientific and cultural center of Herzegovina lies at the foot of the slopes of Velez Mountain, in the Neretva River valley. With its Old Bridge, it is one of the most important pearls of Bosnia & Herzegovina. Back to Sarajevo and overnight.
