The hotel Lula still cherishes the tradition of pipe making. If you stay as their guest you will leave their place with a pipe souvenir made in Sarajevo. If you stay once here you will wish to return and renew your authentic Bosnian experience.
The first hamam in Sarajevo, constructed in XV century now serves as one of the most unique hotels in Sarajevo. In 15th century Europe, in which the importance of hygiene was not yet fully understood, the city of Sarajevo had a wide range of public fountains, toilettes and baths. The founder of the city, Isa-beg Isakoivić authorized the construction of this authentic edifice. First big reconstruction took place after the arrival of Austro-Hungarian monarchy when Hamam received its current look. It was designed by the most important architect for the Austro-Hungarian period of Bosnia in a Moorish-revival style. Hamam was damaged during the Siege of Sarajevo when the whole building was almost destroyed. Chimney in the courtyard of the Emperor’s mosque, located behind the Hamam, is the only surviving part of the original building. Reconstruction which was financed by the Turkish government took place in 2012. Today Isa-begov hamam hotel is owned by one family in Sarajevo. They are striving to preserve the tradition of this very important historical monument. This is the only place in the old town of Sarajevo where you can still experience Turkish hamam.
