Hotel Aziza

Hotel Aziza in newly opened hotel located in the old town of Sarajevo, right next to the Yellow fortress, place with the most beautiful view in the city. Fortress was built in the 18 century to defend Sarajevo in case of possible military incursions. Hotel is owned by Poričanin family which owns the famous “Poričanin” bakery in the old part of Sarajevo. During the month or Ramadan, people gather for hundreds of meters to buy the best “somuns”, traditional bread served during iftar (Ramadan dinner). The hotel boasts a beautiful view over Sarajevo, especially during the evenings. Just next to the hotel there is the museum of Alija Izetbegović, the first President of independent Bosnia and Herzegovina. Strolling through the streets in the immediate vicinity of the hotel you can feel the authentic Ottoman vibe and bosnian tradition. Saburina house, the 18 century traditional Bosnian house is located in the same street as the hotel. They really care about every customer visiting their place and even their motto sais so: “Once a guest, always a friend.”

Hotel Lula

Hotel Lula is a small cozy hotel located in Luledžina street. The name of the street stems from a certain Hadzi Hafiz Mustafa Muhic, who worked as a pipe maker when he was younger and lived in this street. Even this hotel is a family owned business. If you spend the night here, you will be awaken by the smell of one of the finest bureks in the old town of Sarajevo, prepared by the same family in their restaurant. Just few meters away you can see the symbol of Baščaršija, a water fountain locally known as Sebilj, a wooden construction which served as a part of water supply system of Sarajevo. Merchants visiting Sarajevo would always stop at Baščaršija square to feed their horses and to spend some time at the main square in Sarajevo. The hotel Lula still cherishes the tradition of pipe making. If you stay as their guest you will leave their place with a pipe souvenir made in Sarajevo. If you stay once here you will wish to return and renew your authentic Bosnian experience.

Hotel Hamam

The first hamam in Sarajevo, constructed in XV century now serves as one of the most unique hotels in Sarajevo. In 15th century Europe, in which the importance of hygiene was not yet fully understood, the city of Sarajevo had a wide range of public fountains, toilettes and baths. The founder of the city, Isa-beg Isakoivić authorized the construction of this authentic edifice. First big reconstruction took place after the arrival of Austro-Hungarian monarchy when Hamam received its current look. It was designed by the most important architect for the Austro-Hungarian period of Bosnia in a Moorish-revival style. Hamam was damaged during the Siege of Sarajevo when the whole building was almost destroyed. Chimney in the courtyard of the Emperor’s mosque, located behind the Hamam, is the only surviving part of the original building. Reconstruction which was financed by the Turkish government took place in 2012. Today Isa-begov hamam hotel is owned by one family in Sarajevo. They are striving to preserve the tradition of this very important historical monument. This is the only place in the old town of Sarajevo where you can still experience Turkish hamam.
