The Bosnia guided tour begins with your arrival in Sarajevo, where you will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This first day is designed to ease you into the rhythm of the city while setting the tone for the days ahead.
After check-in, the Bosnia guided tour continues with a Sarajevo Walking Tour. As you stroll through the historic streets, you will gradually discover why Sarajevo is considered one of the most layered cities in the region. The walk takes you through the Ottoman-era quarters, known for their small shops, cafés, and traditional handicrafts, before moving toward the Austro-Hungarian part of the city, shaped by a very different architectural and cultural influence.
This introductory experience is an important part of the Bosnia guided tour, offering historical context and helping you understand how different periods shaped everyday life in Sarajevo. After the walking tour, you will have free time to relax, explore independently, or enjoy the city at your own pace.
Overnight in Sarajevo.
After breakfast, the Bosnia guided tour continues towards the Herzegovina region, offering a change of landscape and pace. The first stop is Konjic, a small town set along the emerald-green Neretva River. Here, you will learn about the town’s most recognisable landmark, the Old Stone Bridge, built during the Ottoman period in Bosnia, before enjoying a short break for coffee with views over the river.
The Bosnia guided tour then leads to Kravice Waterfalls, a striking natural site on the Trebižat River, often described as the “small Niagara Falls” of the Balkans. This protected natural area is especially inviting during the summer months, when visitors can swim or simply relax beside the cascading water.
From Kravice, the journey continues to Blagaj, a place known for its calm atmosphere and strong connection to nature. As part of the Bosnia guided tour, you will visit the Blagaj Tekke, a Dervish monastery dating back to the early Ottoman period, dramatically positioned beside the source of the Buna River.
The day concludes in Mostar, a city rich in history and cultural symbolism. You will have time to admire the UNESCO-protected Old Bridge, one of the country’s most iconic landmarks, before returning to Sarajevo for an overnight stay.
On the final day, after breakfast, the Bosnia guided tour concludes with a Sarajevo War Tour, offering deeper insight into the city’s recent history. Just eight years after hosting the 1984 Winter Olympics, Sarajevo found itself under siege during the Bosnian War, a period that left lasting marks on the city and its people.
As part of the Bosnia guided tour, you will visit the Yellow Fortress for panoramic views over Sarajevo before passing through Sniper Alley, one of the most recognisable locations from the siege. The tour continues to the Tunnel of Hope, the only lifeline connecting the city with the outside world and a powerful symbol of survival during wartime.
The Bosnia guided tour also includes a visit to Trebević Mountain, once a frontline position overlooking the city. Here, you will see the abandoned Olympic bobsleigh track, now one of Sarajevo’s most striking reminders of how history and sport intersect in unexpected ways.
After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
