About Bijambare cave and spring of river Bosna tour

Bijambare Cave

We will start our Bijambare Cave and Spring of River Bosna tour with a visit to the Bijambare Caves complex. Bijambare caves are located around 40 km away from Sarajevo and are one of the most beautiful nature resorts in Bosnia.

Upon arrival, first, we shall take a nice walk through the beautiful combination of oak, beech and pine forest to reach the Bijambare Cave complex. The walk is richly enriched with plenty of beautiful scenery, small creeks, a small lake usually there in spring/winter, fresh air and much more.

After we reach The  Bijambare Caves complex, firstly we will visit Gornja cave (upper-cave). Gornja cave is the oldest cave in the Bijambare cave area. It is neither a big speleological structure nor does it have the beautiful decorations that make the Middle Cave so attractive.

However, it hides in its floor the most important records of the past fauna and mankind prehistory. Also, it is the highest cave. So great panoramic views are attractions that we shall not miss here.

After Upper – Cave we will proceed to the Middle Cave. There you will be able to explore the most beautiful cave in Bosnia with the main hall bigger than an average stadium.

During your walk through different halls, you will see breath-taking stalagmites and stalactites. This cave held one wedding ceremony several years ago took place.

Later on, we will be exploring smaller caves in this amazing complex. One of them is the Lower Cave located nearby a small lake and a stream.

We will also see a collection of extremely important monuments of Bosnian medieval history – “Stećci” – medieval tombstones nearby the caves,

Spring of River Bosna Park

After exploring the caves, we will proceed to the most beautiful park in Sarajevo – Spring of River Bosna park.

There you will enjoy green scenery, plenty of water and small wooden bridges. Nearby the spring, you can have a coffee and take the most amazing photos. Optional would be a horse carriage ride through the beautiful oak alley where you can find the most beautiful villas and houses from the period of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in Bosnia.

Agan is top! The best! Thank you “Meet Bosnia Tours” for organizing this wonderful trip. The sights are incredible (because this is a beautiful country/land) and there’s much to see in Bijambare, Vrelo Bosne, etc., but the most important are you “Meet Bosnia Tours” people who worked tirelessly to organize the best experience for us (Medina and Agan) – texts and phone calls, and our questions, and more questions – but you were all the best professionals, patient with us, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We learned such great deal on this trip from Agan. He is a wealth of information and knowledge, humor, and good energy – Agan THANK YOU! What a memorable experience you gave us!!!! 🤘🏼🔥🇧🇦

My tour guide, Jasmin, was exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful time. It was clear from the beginning that he was genuinely dedicated to the enjoyment of his guests and with his extensive local knowledge of the area (coupled with excellent spoken English – making communication effortless) he was able to provide insightful information about the caves, springs and everything in between including recommendations on what else to see and (my personal favourite) what to eat in the city. I’m so glad I booked this tour to see a different side of the region and explore nature. The tour itself was worth the money for a unique and memorable experience. Exploring the Bijambare Cave was fascinating, and the serenity of the Spring of River Bosna was pure magic, and i truly feel it was enhanced by my guide. Don’t forget to bring cash for tip!!!! I highly recommend this tour, I promise you won’t regret it, especially with the incredible
Jasmin as your guide. I will be back <3
