Bosnian dinner details

Bosnian food is known for its variety, fresh ingredients, and very few spices. Also, local food in Bosnia is usually caloric so make sure you have an empty stomach before your Bosnian dinner.

Most of all, the food is prepared with love and whether you prefer chicken, meat or vegetarian you’ll find something to your liking.

In the first place, a Bosnian family will host you in their own family house in Vratnik for an authentic Bosnian meal. Vratnik is one of the most historic areas in Sarajevo’s old-town neighbourhood.

We are picking you up from your accommodation in Sarajevo at 19:00 (07:00 PM) and taking you to a local family which will host you for dinner and evening time.

Most noteworthy is that you will be having an authentic experience and the food quality is guaranteed. During your dinner, you will witness many local customs and traditions.

5 Stars is not enough For This amazing Experience

Had an amazing evening with the host Arna and the lady that cooked for us (sorry I forgot your name) we had plenty of food , several dishes all homemade and local produce , spent the evening chatting about the city and exchanging experiences of each other’s country and culture,
After which we retired to the lounge for coffee and homemade apple pie. Was made to feel at home and very comfortable.
I would highly recommend this tour ,

Arna promptly picked me up from my hotel at the appointed time for the dinner. After about a ten-minute walk, we reached our destination. We were met at the door by our gracious host, Velma, who was such a sweet lady. She offered several courses during the meal and everything was scrumptious, flavorful and satisfying. We had soup, the Bosnian dolma, rack of lamb, burek, and wiener schnitzel. After dinner we had Bosnian coffee with some baklava and I was shown how locals drink it. Velma shared poignant stories about the war. She shared her experiences raising her family during this very difficult time in their history. Whether you’re a foodie or not, I highly recommend this activity if you want to connect with locals and would like to try local dishes in Bosnia-Herzegovina, that are home cooked by the best- a Bosnian mother and wife. Thank you Velma and Arna for a very lovely evening!

Very good way to get a feel for the food and culture of the country. It was really interesting to be able to speak directly with our host about life, food, and current events
