Transfer from Sarajevo to Split with visit to Trogir and Herzegovina region drive through very beautifull landscapes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

Herzegovina region

We will pass through Konjic town and see Neretva river and The Old bridge, as well as Jablanica, a small vilage famous about it’s bridge and the Battle on Neretva River where the Partisans managed to win a very unlikely battle in World War II. Then we continue through some really amazing parts of Neretva river canyon, telling the unique stories of Herzegovina. Next destination is Mostar, a city of light, stone on stone, historical, political, scientific and cultural center of Herzegovina lies at the foot of the slopes of Velez Mountain, in the Neretva River valley. With its Old Bridge is one of the most important pearl of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will walk through The Old Town and beside the famous Old Bridge we will also see Hamam, Turkish bath, Crooked Bridge, Koski Mehmed Pasha mosque and Old Bazaar Kujundziluk. After enjoying Mostar we will proceed to Kravice waterfall. On the way we will see Pocitelj village, medieval and Ottoman-Mediterranean wonder of nature and architecture, a place like no other. Cupped in a steep rocky amphitheatre, it’s a warren of stairways climbing between ramshackle stone-roofed houses and pomegranate bushes. Next destination will be Kravice waterfall, a mini version of Niagara Falls, hidden in the Balkans.

Before arriving in Split we will stop in Trogir, called Trau by the Venetians. Trogir is set within medieval walls on a tiny island, linked by bridges to both the mainland and to the far larger Čiovo Island. Since 1997, the historic centre of Trogir entered the UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. The old town has retained many intact and beautiful buildings from its age of glory between the 13th and 15th centuries. Trogir has 2300 years of urban tradition. Its culture was created under the influence of the ancient Greeks, and afterwards the Romans and Venetians. Trogir has abundant variety of palaces, churches and towers. “The orthogonal street plan of this island settlement dates back to the Hellenistic period and it was embellished by successive rulers with many fine public and domestic buildings and fortifications. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period”, said the UNESCO report. Trogir is the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of the Central Europe. Trogir’s Medieval city core, surrounded by walls, comprises a preserved castle, a tower and a series of houses and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Trogir’s grandest building is the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Its main West portal is a masterpiece of Radovan, and the most significant work of the Romanesque-Gothic style in Croatia. After enjoyable day and visit to all these charming destinations, we finish transfer in Split.
