Full trip itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Zagreb
The Balkan tour is a truly unparalleled journey through the rich and diverse cultures of the Balkans. The tour begins in the historic and vibrant city of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. At the Zagreb Airport, you will be picked up by our tour guide. Zagreb is known for its stunning architecture, rich history, and vibrant culture. Absolute must-see things in Zagreb include Kaptol and Gradec Old town, Cathedral Dolac marketplace, Blood bridge, Stone gates, St Mark Church, and Ban Jelacic square. As for the museums and galleries, our recommendation is the Technical museum of Nikola Tesla and the Croatian Museum of Naive Art, as well as the Museum of Chocolate. The day ends with a relaxing dinner at a hotel and free time to explore the city.

Day 2: Plitvice Lakes, Ostrožac Castle & Bihać
On the second day, you are going to visit the stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia full of gorgeous lakes, cascades, and waterfalls. From Zagreb, the tour continues on to Ostrožac, a small town located in the heart of Croatia’s beautiful Dinaric Alps. Ostrožac is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Some of the must-see sights in Ostrožac include the beautiful Ostrožac Castle, the historic St. George’s Church, and the stunning Ostrožac Waterfall. Next, the tour heads to Bihać, a charming and historic city located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bihać is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. This place is also known for its magnificent fortress and Una National Park. Dinner and overnight stay are included.

Day 3: Travnik, Jajce & Sarajevo
As the dawn of the third day rises, the Balkan tour continues on to Travnik and Jajce. Both of these two cities are absolutely gorgeous and full of rich history that includes a period of the Bosnian Kingdom as well as the Ottoman period. In the town of Jajce, we visit Pliva lakes, wooden watermills, and the beautiful Pliva waterfall in the city center looking at the medieval fortress, as well as the medieval catacombs. Must-see sights in Travnik include the beautiful Old Town Travnik and the historic Travnik Ornamented Mosque. From Travnik and Jajce, the tour continues to Sarajevo, the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo is a vibrant and historic city known for its stunning architecture, rich history, and diverse culture. The fourth day of our Balkan tour is reserved specifically for the exploration of this magnificent city.
Day 4: Sarajevo Sightseeing
On the Balkan tour you will have an opportunity to visit gorgeous cities and places but none of them is as vibrant or gorgeous as Sarajevo. This place is a meeting of various cultures and religions. After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to see the city’s Old Town on a walking tour with highlights that include Sebilj fountain, City Hall, Gazi Husrev-bey’s mosque, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Jewish Synagogue, Old Orthodox Church, the oldest street in the city Kazandžiluk, and of course the place of archduke Franz Ferdinand’s Assassination – The Latin Bridge. After lunch, you can rest in nature a bit while visiting the Springs of River Bosna. One of the unavoidable attractions is The Tunnel of Hope, where you can see some original audio and photo exhibitions related to the ’90s war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After a long day, you can relax in the hotel or by exploring the city before and/or after dinner.
Day 5: Mostar & Neum
From Sarajevo, the tour heads to Mostar, a charming and historic city located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. On the road to Mostar, we will make two stops in Konjic and Jablanica for pictures. Also, after we arrive in Mostar, we stop in the medieval stone town Počitelj and Buna river springs in Blagaj village for lunch. In Mostar, we have a guided walking tour visiting the crooked bridge, The Old Bridge Mostar, Coppersmiths, and Koski Mehmet Pasha mosque. Next, the tour continues to Neum, a city located on the beautiful Adriatic coast of Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for its stunning natural beauty. Some of the must-see sights in Neum include the beautiful St. Peter’s Church, the historic Neum Castle, and the stunning Neum Beach. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 6: Dubrovnik sightseeing, Kotor & Budva
From Neum, the tour continues to Dubrovnik, a stunning and historic city located on the beautiful Adriatic coast of Croatia. Dubrovnik is known for its stunning architecture, rich history, and vibrant culture. Some of the must-see sights in Dubrovnik include Stradun – the most famous street in Dubrovnik, the beautiful Dubrovnik Cathedral of the Assumption, The Walls of Dubrovnik, and the stunning Dubrovnik Beach – Banje. Next, the tour heads to Kotor, a charming and historic city located on the beautiful Adriatic coast of Montenegro. Kotor is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Some must-see sights in Kotor include the beautiful Kotor Cathedral, the historic Kotor Castle, and the stunning Kotor Beach. From Kotor, the tour continues to Budva for an overnight stay. Budva is one gorgeous city on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. It is known for its absolutely stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. When it comes to sightseeing in Budva, you should absolutely see Budva Cathedral and of course the Budva Beach.
Day 7: Tirana & Lake Ohrid
After breakfast and check out, our Balkan tour continues towards Tirana, the capital and largest city of Albania. Here you will be able to experience walking and panoramic tour with highlights such as Skanderbeg Square, Ethem bey mosque, Mother Theresa square, communist bunkers, Opera house, Piramida, and the main boulevard. Tirana is a vibrant and historic city known for its stunning architecture. Lunch will be organized in one of the local restaurants. The tour continues towards Ohrid for an overnight stay including several steps away.
Day 8: Ohrid sightseeing & Skopje
On the 8th day of our Balkan tour, we are staying in Ohrid, a charming and historic city located in the heart of North Macedonia. Ohrid is known for its amazing natural beauty and of course some cultural heritage. Some of the must-see sights in Ohrid include the beautiful Ohrid Cathedral, the historic Ohrid Castle, and the stunning Ohrid Lake. Meet with a local guide and city tour visiting Zeynel Abidin Pasha Teki and mosque, Ali Pasha mosque, the main promenade, Entrance gates to Old Town and fortress, Old paper factory, Ohrid pearls, St Sophia monastery and Ohrid Lake. Definitely spend some time alone roaming throughout this gorgeous city during your free time. Continuing our journey towards Skopje for a wonderful dinner and stay.
Day 9: Skopje sightseeing
Finally, the tour concludes in Skopje, the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. Skopje is an enormously vibrant place. Our morning exploration of Skopje starts with a walking tour with a local guide visiting the bazaar, Stone bridge, Hamam, Stone bridge, Alexander the Great Square, Mother Theresa’s birth house, Old Railway station, and Kale fortress. What’s very interesting is The Skopje Aquarium is a popular destination for families visiting Skopje. The aquarium features a variety of aquatic life, including fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Additionally, if it’s more to your liking you can visit the Skopje City Museum which features exhibits related to history and the city’s culture. This also includes ancient artefacts, traditional crafts as well as modern art sections. The service concludes after lunch and airport transfer.
