Orlovaca Cave and Jahorina Mountain is a half-day tour during which you will visit the most significant cave in Sarajevo surrounding area and the Olympic mountain that hosted Olympic Games in Sarajevo in the year 1984.
The tour lasts 4-5 hours and it is a perfect option for families and nature lovers.
Orlovaca is 25 minutes away from Sarajevo. A short ride in the east direction will lead us to Orlovača cave. The cave is easy to reach and is only 18 kilometres from the centre of Sarajevo. It is located on Orlovača Hill, near the village of Sumbulovac and is about a kilometre from the road that runs between Sarajevo and Zvornik.
Orlovaca Cave is best known for its incredibly rich array of decorative cave formations (stalactites and stalagmites), as well as for the Mesolithic pottery shards that have been found here. The temperature inside the cave remains at a constant 9°C, and the area around the cave is perfect for walking, as well as for having picnics near the small stream that flows nearby.
Orlovaca is unique for the remains of Cave Bears (Ursus spelaeus) that have been found here. These bears inhabited the surrounding hills more than 16,000 years ago. The cave is also home to bats.
The cavern has a total length of more than two and a half kilometres but the area reserved for tourists runs for only 560 meters and includes well-lit concrete paths. After the cave tour, we will proceed to Olympic mountain Jahorina. The guide will talk to you about the Olympic games and women discipline competition that was organized on this mountain.
Jahorina Olympic Ski Resort is the biggest and most popular ski resort in Bosnia and Herzegovina and offers a variety of outdoor sports and activities. It is primarily a destination for alpine skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and sledging, with over 40 km (25 mi) of ski slopes and modern facilities. The average snow depth on ski runs during February is 106 cm (42 in) (ten-year average).
After free time on this beautiful mountain, we are returning to Sarajevo in the afternoon hours.

Amazing Tours, Excellent Service
I am truly impressed with the attention to detail, knowledge and availability of the tour guide to help as and when needed. Excellent job, Edin!
Edin more than just a tour guide
Edin is a superb, charming, energetic, fun, loving and knowledgeable tour guide that I am lucky to have engaged for my family’s trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
To begin with, my family has always loved travelling by ourselves, on a free and easy trip without any guide tagging along with us. But since knowing and being introduced to Edin, we decided for a change. What started as a city transfer trip to Jahorina, ended up with us engaging his services for 5 days straight. He delivered his service with a personal touch and sincerity that will forever imprint in our memories forever. He even went the extra mile to fulfil my family’s wish of visiting a Bosnian orphanage home, which was an eye opener to us as well. It was really sweet of him to involve his mom, Bellma, to accompany us to the orphanage home. Despite not speaking any word of English, Bellma has such a kind and beautiful heart. I am very lucky to have met with her.
Edin also accompanied my family to Dubrovnik, Croatia and Kotor, Montenegro. We had such a great time there and felt safe under his guidance.
But above all, we personally felt that Edin has become a part of our family rather than a guide. He has superb knowledge about his home country, delivering interesting facts and it’s deep set history, really well. He is also a skilful driver, always punctual and cares about the safety of others.
It is without a doubt that I would recommend Edin’s personal tour guide services to anyone who wants to explore BiH.
To Edin and Bellma, my family and I wishes you all the best in your future undertakings. Thank you very much for the sweet memories in Bosnia. We will never forget them.
