What is the best time to camp in Sarajevo?

The best time of the year to go camping near Sarajevo is surely from April until September.

Camping Sarajevo is a camp located around 10km from the city center in a municipality called Ilidža. Ilidža is known for its greenery, nature, and thermal water sources. This camp is located under the Igman mountain – Olympic mountain of Sarajevo. It is a family camp with fair prices starting from 6€ per person, 2€ per tent or 6€ for Camper.

The campsite is available from 1st of April until 31st of October.

Camping “Rimski most” or translated as “Camping the Roman Bridge” is a camping spot also located in the municipality of Ildiža. It is very close to the center of Ilidža so if you decide to come, you will have all supplies nearby in terms of shops, groceries… The popular resting place Roman Bridge is in close proximity. 

Autocamp Visoko is about 45min ride from Sarajevo. It is unlike those listed above, located near Visoko city. What is the most interesting fact about this campsite? If you haven’t heard there are Bosnian Pyramids nearby, an archaeological site led by a team of archaeologists who believe that The Pyramid of the Sun is the oldest Pyramid in the world now. If you find this subject appealing, feel free to visit Park Ravne and excavated tunnels. 

At this campsite, you can find electricity, water supply and sanitary.

You can also take a tour with us from Sarajevo and visit the Pyramids of Visoko.

Around 12km from the city center, you can find Sarajevo Camp by Tent, a charming campsite in Dobroševići settlement. It is a safe place to put a tent or leave bicycles, but one can come along with a car too. The main aim of this place is to create a resting place for cyclists and people who are passing by and want a nice experience. The price for cyclists is 5€ and for others 7€. This campsite offers you access to water and a stove. Also, there is nearby a restaurant called “Sarajevska bajka” with delicious traditional food. The campsite also provides WI-FI network.

Olywood One is a nice campsite located 45min walk from Sarajevo city center. It is available for cars, campers, and tents. The campsite provides water supply together. It is located at Trebevic mountain. Trebevic is also an Olympic mountain.
